MORE ABOUT SASANE (taken from http://sasane.org.np):

SASANE was established in 2008 by former female victims of human trafficking on the principle that survivors can create social change to eradicate human trafficking and reintegrate human trafficking survivors into society as respected members of the community and to increase women’s access to justice and achieve systemic change within the legal system. SASANE has adopted a rights-based approach to break cycles of exploitation and victimization and address the conditions facilitating the recent increase in human trafficking and the explosive growth of Nepal’s night entertainment sector. SASANE‟s innovative strategy of social change consults with and engages trafficking survivors in anti-trafficking activities to simultaneously transform the lives of other victims and tackle systemic inequality, exploitation, and injustice.

ABOUT SASANE AND THE FFF:

The Feminist Film Festival’s founder Karla Healion visited this charity in Nepal when travelling Asia recently and was blown away by this group of amazing women, who not only survived horrific experiences of sex trafficking and violence but have now set up this organisation that trains, educates and supports other women who need help. The women of Sasane are positive, warm, strong, smart, wonderful people and they so genuinely deserved our support and donation. The hope is to raise as much as possible for these incredible people.

Even if you can’t make the festival, why not throw a few quid their way right now?! Every penny counts.
